uk swap package from adrienne

I received the most amazing pair of socks today from Adrienne! Of course, that's not all she sent, but these are my very first pair of hand-knitted socks and I LOVE them! I never really understood sock knitting, I just thought 'they're just socks, how different can they be?'.... Boy was I wrong! These socks are beautifully knitted in forest-coloured variegated yarn, I even got the spare ball left over from my socks! I can't wait to try my hand at sock knitting. I believe I have been inspired...

At the moment I'm sitting at my desk, sipping some lovely Organic tea and eating delicious french shortbread that my generous buddy sent me; I spent the past 30 minutes taking photos of the goodies I got!

To re-launch my dyeing experimentation, Adrienne sent me this super-cool Kool-Aid Dyeing Kit, complete with a ball of yarn to play with:

A fantastic selection of Bamboozle yarns in baby pastels which I am SO happy about:

Two balls of one of my favorite yarns, Sirdar Calico, in a peach colour:

I've always wanted to get a Crochet Lite hook, as I DO struggle with dark yarns... and Adrienne sent me TWO! I enjoy crochet.. thanks for taking the theme photo into account!

Together with a stunning embroidered pencil-case to keep them in:

I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened up a pink, squishy, wrapped package... A SPINDLE! Complete with lots of wool to play with... It was such a GREAT surprise! I still can't get over how insightful (and totally 'cool') my swap partner is!

As for the foodie treats, I knew that Adrienne was going on holiday, but I didn't expect such a lovely selection of french mustards:

I also recieved some exquisite aromatics and a bottle of Truffle Olive Oil... Isn't she the best?

To top it all off, Adrienne sent me some scrumptious chocolate...

....and a fabulous natural massager to help me wind down after this exciting day!

Thank you SO MUCH Adrienne... I can see that you've put lots of thought and time into putting together this package...I feel like I've won the Swap Buddy Lottery! I only hope that one day I can do the same for you! Let's stay in touch alright?

I'm off to play with my new 'stuff' now!

Just working on the foot of a second, monster-sized sock for the DH. I have been using Ann Budd's book for guidance. Sock knitting is almost as cool as wearing them. Infact, it is really addictive... I hope that I have such luck with my future swap buddies as you've had with Adrienne. BTW love your blog and its concept. Food+Green+Fibre=Fabulous in my book. x

I'm knitting my very first sock - in fact, I learned to knit specifically because I wanted to make socks! You scored nicely with that swap!

BTW, I found you through related (to mine) blogs at BlogCatalog.
