Saturday 17th July - Plying all done! I'm really happy with how these turned out, 2 skeins, approximately 200g/180m. They look a little too tight for my liking at the moment but I'm sure that after a good Wash & Thwack they will fluff up nicely!
Sunday 18th & Monday 19th July - I spent two evenings pre-drafting the merino/cashmere tops (70/30, from MandaCrafts, Red Hot Chilli Pepper Colourway) that I had originally planned to spin a laceweight yarn with. With time being a bit too short, I settled for a sock/fingering weight single instead. I might make a small shawl or gloves out of this.
Tuesday 20th July - Spinning is coming along nicely, the fibre is absolutely divine and it spins like a fantastic, soft, dream!
Wednesday 21st July - I took a little break from spinning because I had to do an emergency dyeing! Four 100g skeins in Alpine (from the Rustic Tranquility Collection)... I will blog the progress of this mystery project in the near future.
Thursday 22nd July - Finished spinning and skeining the merino/cashmere blend. I was very careful when I was filling the bobbin that I managed to pack in all 150g of fibre onto one! Yardage is approximately 590m in singles.
Friday 23rd July - In an attempt to keep up the pace, I pre-drafted the other bag of merino/cashmere tops (from MandaCrafts once again, this time in Victorian Velvet colourway), ready to be spun up tomorrow.
Tick tock tick tock.. Time is running out!
