stash buster booties challenge

14 May 2008

I'm quite a carefree person, and I don't regard myself as much of a worrier; to tell you the truth, I could stand to be a little more 'worrying'; I find that those who stress seem to get a lot more things done!

Now knitting and crocheting are another matter...Needlecrafts are hobbies that people start to relieve stress...and they are the source of my worry! Too much to do, too many projects half-done...if it weren't for Ravelry I think I would get overwhelmed by this addictive behavior! I need to use up some of my stash before I'm allowed to buy a spinning wheel (obviously I AM a Yarn Addict)...

I buy yarn whenever I can... the local Hobbycraft store, the £1 shop in town, online stores, and of course, ebay.

I've been worrying about my 'stash' for some time now, it has been steadily growing over the past few years and now I feel a pang of guilt when I toss yet another impulse buy onto the pile. Since I have very little patience for large-scale projects such as blankets and sweaters, and the fact that I absolutely HATE repetitive knitting/crocheting (by that I mean making scarves and such!), I discovered the joy of baby booties!

Quick to make and fun to embellish...who could ask for more? I gave given myself a challenge; the Stash Buster Booties Challenge. I aim to make 100 pairs of baby booties by the end of the year (?? too overconfident?). The first pair are shown above... Wish me luck!
