I finished these a few days ago; I've been putting off posting about them simply because I misplaced the piece of paper I had written the pattern on! I found it by the microwave earlier on so here it is!

You will need:

  • 4x 4.5mm double pointed knitting needles
  • 3 skiens of fingering yarn (I worked all three balls together, you can use a single strand of double weight yarn)
  • wool needle to weave in loose ends

The gauge I worked in was 5st by 6st in stocking stitch per 1 inch square (please excuse my pattern 'lingo'...this is the first time I've written a knitting pattern!).

Cast on 30 stitches evenly onto 3 needles (10 stitches each); place stitch marker to mark the beginning of the row.

Round 1-5 - Work in rib stitch; k1, p1 15 times. At the end of the row, don't turn your work, just continue in the round.

Round 6-29 - Work in stocking stitch; k 30 sts. Do not turn work!

Round 30-38 - This is where we make the thumb hole; still working in stocking stitch, this time, turn work at the end of the row; even rows are k across, odd rows are p across. By the end of row 38, you should have something like looks like this:

Round 39-49

- Go back to working in the round; continue in stocking stitch (k across...no turning!) for 10 rows.

Cast off. Repeat for other glove.

Here you can see them in all thier simplicity! They'e so quick and easy to make.. and your hands stay warm and toasty without interfering with keyboards/knitting/whatever you're doing at the time!
