my hypothetical dinner party

  • Community
22 Jun 2008

I’ve had quite a rough few weeks; with it being relatively dry lately my allergies have been on full throttle! My eyes have been itchy, my nose stuffy... and my mood extremely appalling! It rained quite heavily last night... so I woke up with renewed energy having finally had a good nights sleep!

I haven’t been knitting much lately, I had a severe case of RSS in my left hand which rendered my fingers useless for a few weeks... however here are 2 pairs of booties that I managed to make before my hand got really bad...

Pink Weekend Booties : I made these booties from a pattern by Zoe Mellor...

Girly Braided Tie Booties: I made a more 'feminine' version of the Braided Tie Booties. You can find the pattern here.

I have to lay off any major knitting/crocheting (actually I need to simply STOP using my left hand for another few weeks...) for the meantime... I’m over the initial shock of actually not being able to knit much... but I’m using my time to come up with some new booties patterns that will be available for purchasing in my store!

Now about the Swap; I received some lovely emails from my upstream swap buddy (from now on I’m going to call her Sunshine). This is my first time taking part in this particular swap group and I was super surprised at Sunshine’s pleasant email demeanor! I have been scouring through all the blogs trying to figure out who she might be... but its in vain. It could be anybody at this point!

I have started to make a list of things I might want to include in my downstream swap buddy’s parcel... but nothing definitive yet. I’m not that good with ‘theming’ so I have lots of work to do!

The delightful ladies from the UK Swap group have come up with the following question for us swappers:

Which three guests (alive or not) would you invite to a dinner party and why?

At this point in time, I miss my parents; they are a 5-hour plane ride away and I would love to have them around! I would like my dad to sample my cooking and be proud of me... and I want to show my mom my fantastic new sewing machine and what I can do with it! She is quite skilled at sewing and hasn’t seen any of my finished projects just yet! As for the other person, I really couldn’t decide; I have 4 sisters... any one of them would do (I fear backlash if I DARE choose one over the other!)... besides it works out great, if one can’t make it, one of the others probably will!

I’m off to wind some skeins into balls...
