lucky one - my mavericks week

I've been listening to The Mavericks all week; laid back and friggin' awesome, just like my mood lately!

The past few days have been quite busy, I have been making some journals to restock the shop, hence the slightly cluttered workspace. I'm working on some different styles of covers, incorporating some photographs and artwork into the designs, I'm really loving the outcome so far and hopefully it will translate into customers loving them as well!

I added two new journals this afternoon; Earth and Bijou.

EARTH: Made with a rich golden brown faux leather exterior, and lined with a patterned linen fabric on the inside. I used a pretty floral resin button for the closure...

BIJOU: The cover is made with black faux leather, with a back and white printed fabric as a lining. Once again, one of my classic simple designs, with a resin flower cameo button...

Even more fun news, one of the reasons I've been feeling good all week is because of what arrived at my desk on Tuesday morning:

I ordered the drum carder from Forest Fibres last week, and I wasn't expecting it until  Thursday this week, so imagine how pleased I was to get it 2 days in advance! I really hadn't intended on opening the box until I had a few journals finished, but I managed to resist the temptation for a total of 20 minutes.. I HAD to take a look! I got a bit distracted for a few hours (stuffing it with fibres and creating gorgeous fluffy batts!), but I have decided that I'm going to be good and won't touch it until I'm done with the journals this weekend. At the moment it's sitting patiently at the far end of the worktable, waiting for me to finish binding the rest of the journals.

For now, I have all this to bind up so I can do a nice BIG update this weekend:

Have a nice evening everyone!

They are amazing! I didn't know you did bookibinding as well. Love the idea of having the yarn table in there. Amazing! (I feel they deserve over-use of the word!)
