A few weeks ago, I designed and knitted a pair of long gloves; I wore them twice and to my dismay, they were extremely fuzz prone.
Before I photograph items for pattern publishing, I usually wear them for a while to see how well my yarn choice holds up, in this case, it didn't. The photo above was taken after I spent half and hour picking out bobbles. The yarn I used is Sublime Extra Fine Merino DK, in 'Blazer' 139. When I first came across this yarn at my local Hobbycraft, I thought it was lovely and soft, and quite reasonably priced at £4 a ball. Unfortunately, I know now that unless one wishes to carry a wool shaver everywhere, and this yarn had to be substituted.
At the moment, I am re-knitting the sample in a gorgeous self-striping yarn by Schoeller & Stahl:
I'm going to omit the woven stitch pattern I originally had on around the wrists of the first gloves, as I have decided that it got too 'cluttered' and it wasn't what I was going for. Even though I hate setbacks like re-knitting something, I feel this one was meant to be as the pattern is going to be MUCH better this time around. I'll finish these off tonight and block them so I could wear them over the weekend perhaps take some photos!
I also updated my Etsy shop yesterday. Four new journals; Artistic, Flutter, Exquisite, and Free Spirit.
Thanks for looking!

I love the new journals - I think flutter is my favourite.
It's so annoying when something you've spent making doesn't work out quite as you imagined, isn't it? Pilling has to be one of the major annoyances to knitters, as it only happens after you've finished the project and think it's all perfect. But the new yarn looks interesting - I'll look forward to seeing the finished articles!
Just discovered your blog, I love it. Your notebooks are wonderful, I like the Artistic and the Free spirit models the most. I can't wait to see more of your projects.
Take care!
But they look really nice though. At least the design is a goer - might have to try some. :)
LOVE the striping yarn too.
Pilling is such a pain, there are certain yarns that I have learnt never to use again!
I never knew it was called pilling! My beret hat is pilling. It's a pain! LOVE the new journals, you are so talented!
