This afternoon, I'm recovering from a long and yarn-filled day at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace in London. The early 6:00am start from Cardiff, the hours of walking and lusting over yarns when I got there, and the late-night trip back has left me feeling like I was in a cage fight last night. My back, legs and arms are aching...
Saturday was a sunny day, there were plenty of vendors flogging their wares, and the atmosphere at the show was great. I was happy and bouncy for the first hour or so, until a relatively large lady ran over my left foot with her scooter-thing; let me tell you, it HURT! What was worse though, was the fact that she didn't even stop to see if I was alright, she simply drove away shouting out an 'Oh I'm sorry' without even turning around! After sulking in the foyer for half an hour I went back inside and let the yarns console me.
There was plenty to look at, and despite my intention to take lots of photographs, I let myself get too distracted and I only managed a few shots of the stalls:
There were two art installments in the foyer; Ingrid Wagner's Coat for a Boat:
...and a textile sculpture by Rachel John from Extreme Textiles:
More information about both installments can be found on the Twisted thread website here.
I was on the lookout for some interchangeable Knitpicks needles, but couldn't find the sizes I wanted in metal tips. I really wasn't looking to purchase any yarns, but I bought some anyways (plus some fibres!):
I have about 20 things to get done before this day is over.. so I'd better get cracking on them.. Have a nice day everyone!

It was a fab day though. I'm so glad I went, and am already looking forward to next year!
