I had a brilliant Saturday at the Knitwitches KnitGarden party! The fabulous Eirwen from Knitwitches Yarns threw a terrific gettogether; lots of yarnies, delicious food, knit-oriented party games.. and a fascinator competition!
As you can see, Chaytan, my miniature crochet bear, helped me win 2 gloriously soft skeins of heavy laceweight pure cashmere yarn! I've been fondling them all morning..
I did take photos of everyone else's fascinators.. I thought they were beautiful, I just wished I had a little more patience to create flowers! (I have added links to Ravelry profiles of those I'm sure of..)
Pink and grey rose with wire beading, with a delicate pink feather...
A marvelous hand-felted piece with a beaded ladybug, climbing over knitted leaves and bluebells...
An intricate wire crochet bouquet with dazzling blue beads by WelshCrochetDiva...
One of my favorites was this one by Alison: floral with handspun yarn and beaded knitting, and just a touch of fluff...
IvyAlvarez tempted us with a yummy swiss roll (I found out that Ivy is a poet as well as a knitter, check out her website here!)...
Our hostess KnitwitchesYarns, modeled a primo mohair rose headpiece...
And finally, Anne sported a splended knitted flower with a mother of pearl centre and strings of seed beads grabs second place in the contest!
All I can say is, it was a SENSATIONAL day.. THANK YOU KNITWITCHES!!! I'm off to wash some fleeces now.. Have a nice day everyone!
